Swansea 2022 Golf Trip

The 3rd Old Man Baz Golf Society, four course tour playing, Royal Porthcawl, Clyne, Gower, Mackintosh course-Cottrell Park, 4 great courses, some great scores, a bit of rain a dodge Mexican, amazing curry house, not being able to have a shit for all four days, a lost wooden spoon, swingers trophy (not that type), one pair of trousers all weekend and a healthy dose of Covid, and we haven't started talking about the golf yet.

Day 1

Royal Porthcawl, what an amazing proper links course which started with the kids teeing of first and the old boys bring up the rear, I do have to say that the weather did effect the scoring, sunshine, wind ,showers and full on torrential rain but despite the terrible weather the scores where still up there with plenty of 4 for 4's, well for some.

Day 2

Clyne golf club has got to be one of the most interesting places to play golf, the course is on common moorland where the fairways are walked not only by the birdie seeking golfers but also grazing wild horses and the odd herd of sheep which don't understand the need to get out of the way of Baz's ball, oh and the weather was still a contributing factor to the scores but this didn't dampen our spirts even if some did opt to wear two gloves.

Day 3

Another great course in Gower a parkland course, with the sun shining there was high hopes of movement up the leader board and catching up with the leader (who was hoping for movement of a different kind) with only 8 points separating first and second place, all was to play for. The weather certainly helped although there was some dodge legs on show.

Day 4

Final chance to close the gap at the top, Mackintosh course - Cottrell Park, with only 6 points in it and the sun shining, a course that looked easily tamed and the 4 for 4's didn't disappoint, but alas just ran out of holes Kev G to catch me, a great weekend and a lot of fun and memories.

But the 3rd Old Man Baz Society tour was won by Matty T.
